withdrawl

Still no sock needles to start the sock again, so no progress to report, which means no pictures. I'd document its unravelling, but I can't bear to do it until I can start it again right away.

However, I've just been inspired! I've thought up a top secret project for a top secret Christmas present. So I can't talk about that either (except, is it still creative if I manipulate someone else's pattern for my own evil knitterly doings?) I mostly just need to get to the yarn store, ASAP, and I'm trapped at work! Oh NOES! But here's a hint (also a question to be answered): Is fair isle hard? I know several of you are doing it/have done it recently. Does it require my utmost undivided attention?

Fair Isle is not as hard as you think but it does require some attention ranging from memorizing a fairly easy pattern and repeating it to following a complicated dizzy chart that is at all times treacherous so choose wisely. Also, what size neddles did you use for thos socks?

I used size 2. I'm going to purchase both size 3 and 4 when I go to the store... because I WILL knit these socks, dammit!!

size 2? I think you and Jessica are both knitting too tight. You should drink before you knit. Of course the lady at the yarn shop yesterday looked at my knitting and said, "You are a really loose knittter!" I chose to take that as a compliment.

I can't help it. It's just my style. I've tried to make myself knit loosely, but it requires too much focus. I'm not sure what that says about me as a person. ;)

you should do the hat that robin and I did as a first fair isle project (yea, I copied robin) It is pretty easy and super fulfilling when you are done

yea, I can't say much about knitting loose or tight, I snap sock needles left and right!
